Senior Android XR Engineer

Geomagical Labs is pioneering 3D spatial computing experiences for millions of users globally, in partnership with IKEA. Their innovative apps enable users to scan and redesign their homes in photorealistic 3D, transforming home commerce.

We are seeking a Senior Android Mobile XR Engineer to join our team and develop these spatial computing experiences. You will be responsible for building 3D scanning, AR, and interactive 3D room design, working with a diverse and dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop joyful 3D home imagination experiences for millions of users
• Use AR, AI, and 3D technologies to create magical spatial UX experiences
• Ship and maintain key features for a highly-visible product
• Design architectures for performance and extensibility
• Build tools and telemetry for performance optimization
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, AI researchers, and 3D graphics specialists
• Grow skills in 3D/XR/AI technologies and work with cutting-edge tools like ARCore and OpenGL

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing Android applications
• 1+ years of experience with Kotlin
• Strong understanding of Android concurrency, client-server network programming, and APIs
• Experience with Camera, ARCore, Android Native UI, and Jetpack Compose
• Knowledge of 3D graphics (scene graph, transforms, rendering)
• Passion for creating consumer products users love
• Strong English communication skills and a collaborative team player

Nice to Have

• Experience developing Android Libraries
• Computer vision or C++ development experience

Compensation

• Salary range: $180,000 to $220,000 depending on location, skill, and experience
