Senior AI Engineer

As a Senior AI Engineer at Williams Racing, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying advanced AI and machine learning models. These models aim to enhance performance and operational efficiency within the Technical team. The role emphasizes AI model development, optimization algorithms, and scalable pipelines. You will also mentor junior engineers and drive technical excellence while collaborating across various departments such as Aero Development, Vehicle Dynamics and Performance, and Operations.

Key Objectives

• Lead the execution of AI models, algorithms, and pipelines to improve vehicle performance, race strategy, and operational decision-making.
• Design, develop, and train advanced AI models, including deep learning and reinforcement learning models, for performance insights.
• Build scalable machine learning pipelines for real-time simulation, data fusion, and optimization of vehicle dynamics.
• Implement AI-driven anomaly detection and predictive analytics to enhance vehicle performance and operational efficiencies.
• Mentor junior AI engineers, fostering knowledge-sharing and technical excellence within the team.
• Explore and adopt cutting-edge AI technologies and techniques, including transformers and LLMs, to maintain technical leadership.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

• Extensive experience in developing and deploying complex AI and machine learning models, including deep learning and reinforcement learning.
• Proficiency in AI and data technologies, with expertise in Python (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn). C++ knowledge is a plus.
• Proven ability to develop scalable AI pipelines and integrate models into real-time systems.
• Experience with large language models (LLMs), model interpretability, and explainable AI techniques.
• Strong track record of managing and delivering high-impact AI projects, balancing speed and quality.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex AI concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
