We are looking for a Lead Research Scientist to join the Snap Lab BCI team in Paris and drive state-of-the-art research in Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead research to develop advanced closed-loop algorithms for BCI control systems.
  • Design and execute a multi-year research agenda.
  • Perform real-time and offline analysis of non-invasive brain recording data.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to build next-generation BCI solutions for Augmented Reality.
  • Develop experimental protocols for BCI capabilities.
  • Share expertise to advance BCI hardware and machine learning development.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Expertise in systems neuroscience with a focus on brain rhythms, neural feature extraction, and signal interpretation.
  • Strong knowledge of statistics and machine learning concepts.
  • Proven ability to define, lead, and execute complex research projects.
  • Proficiency in Python and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience leading interns, PhD students, or junior researchers.
  • Ability to communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD in computational neuroscience, systems neuroscience, machine learning, physics, computer science, electrical engineering, or related fields.
  • 7+ years of experience in BCI research, including experimental design and execution.
  • Proficiency in advanced statistics, machine learning, and signal processing.
  • Familiarity with real-time signal processing.
  • Fluency in English with excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant industry experience in a relevant role.
  • Research-oriented software engineering skills with proficiency in scientific computing and machine learning libraries (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
  • Peer-reviewed publications.
  • Conversation-level French is a plus.
