About

McLaren is seeking a Visualisation Manager to join the Design department in Woking. You will lead the Design Visualisation team, delivering high-quality Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) and Autodesk VRED rendered materials and real-time datasets. This role involves collaborating across departments to produce content for design decision-making, visual feasibility, marketing, press releases, and social media.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage Visualisation team requirements for programmes and headcount.
  • Oversee budget planning for visualisation deliverables with the Head of Digital Delivery.
  • Coordinate with both onsite and offshore Visualisation teams for seamless delivery.
  • Run screen reviews for visualisation issues raised by the Design Studio or Engineering.
  • Provide project updates in weekly status meetings.
  • Manage surface timing plans and release schedules for all programmes.
  • Develop interactive VR environments using scripting and coding software.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the Visualisation team in line with McLaren's culture.
  • Own programme budgets for visualisation resources and expenditures.

Requirements:

  • University-level qualification in 3D games art or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience creating UE5/VRED videos, cinematics, and showreels with expertise in photo-realistic materials and Blueprint scripting.
  • Proficiency in lighting, rendering, and VR project setup in UE5/VRED.
  • Strong background in CAD data conversion, UV mapping, modeling, and texturing.
  • Professional experience in the computer games industry with knowledge of C++, C, and scripting.
  • Familiarity with Configurator design and VR/AR integration.
  • Experience in UI/UX design and texture painting using Photoshop, Substance, and Illustrator.
  • Automotive visualisation experience (10+ years preferred).
