About
Amazon Games is seeking a Generative AI Technical Artist to join our core AI team. In this role, you will collaborate with game development teams across Amazon Games Studios to define and implement AI-assisted art production pipelines, working closely with artists, engineers, and AI/ML specialists. At the intersection of art and technology, your expertise enables our art teams to work more efficiently, allowing them to focus on high-value creative work while leveraging AI to manage repetitive tasks. You will bridge traditional art processes with emerging AI technologies, developing innovative tools that empower artists' creativity and optimizing asset creation and production processes.

Key job responsibilities

- Research and evaluate emerging generative AI technologies and tools to optimize production workflows
- Collaborate with artists and AI specialists to create and document innovative AI-assisted production solutions, in response to real-world production needs
- Create standardized processes and guidelines for integrating AI tools into existing art workflows
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define requirements and architecture for integrating and developing AI tools into game engines
- Establish quality control frameworks and validation processes for AI-generated content, according to different asset types
- Lead training initiatives and create documentation necessary for the adoption of AI workflows by game teams

About the team
The Amazon Games Studio AI Research team focuses on artificial intelligence innovation in gaming. Our highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team works across machine learning, reinforcement learning, and generative AI to reimagine game development. We work closely with internal teams and our partner studios to bring their creative visions to life. Our mission is to use AI responsibly to transform gameplay experiences, enrich narratives, and provide creators with practical tools to optimize their production pipelines.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience as a technical artist in game development
- Proficiency with AI art tools and generative models
- Solid understanding of art pipelines and content creation workflows
- Experience with 3D creation tools (Blender, 3dsmax, Houdini, Maya)
- Experience with game engines; Unreal Engine or Unity is a real asset
- Proficiency with technical documentation and workflow design
- Demonstrated problem-solving and workflow optimization skills
- Fluency in French and English, both oral and written; since this role requires interaction with other Amazon entities globally as well as employees and stakeholders in other Canadian provinces, knowledge of French and English is required for this position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience integrating AI pipelines into game engines
- Proficiency in machine learning concepts and their artistic applications
- Experience on multiple game projects
- Experience developing automation tools and systems for artists
- Understanding of performance issues and technical constraints in games
- Experience shipping games as a technical artist
- Experience mentoring artists on technical workflows
- Proficiency in procedural content generation techniques
