TECHNICAL ART INTERN, LONDON LAB

What You'll Do

  • Be part of a team responsible for innovating and producing awesome real-time experiences, working collaboratively with our partners at Disney under the supervision of the LL team.
  • Learn to craft games and experiential projects, varying in context across the entire Fortnite and Unreal ecosystem.
  • Use a multitude of techniques and workflows to create assets in and out of the engine.
  • Confidently execute tasks and take initiative on improving other areas of the project suggesting efficiency in workflows.

What we're looking for

  • A keen eye for details and problem-solving, creatively driven with diverse knowledge of the Unreal engine.
  • A base knowledge of various DCC programs.
  • Technically minded and self-motivated for upskilling across various software.
  • Understanding of the workflows around asset creation: how to efficiently implement assets into Unreal engine, optimize and iterate on their visual quality through manipulating textures, shaders and LOD's.
  • A good understanding of rigging, blueprints, and technical animation.
  • A good understanding of shader building
  • Creativity in problem-solving and a positive, respectful team-first attitude.
  • Able to take feedback and critique to iterate on work to completion.

Nice to have skills

  • Knowledge of tool development
  • Knowledge of Niagara particle systems for FX work.
  • Knowledge of VFX workflows: understanding cinematics and creating previs to sequences.
  • Knowledge of building games in UEFN.

This internship has a flexible start date in 2025. Recruitment will be ongoing until teams find an ideal match. Applicants must be legally authorised to work in the posting location for the duration of the internship.
