About
Tesla Design System is looking to add a Front-End/React Engineer to the team. We're looking for engineers of multiple seniority levels who can help build and maintain the Design System's core engineering efforts (components, tokens, icons, etc). Ideally, we're looking to hire a React engineer to contribute to our essential component libraries.
The Tesla Design System is a company-wide design system supporting customer & business-facing apps, and internal projects across multiple frameworks, and critically, Vanilla HTML/CSS/JS for teams building entirely from-scratch projects. We foster alignment for all apps across Web, Native, Factory, and Vehicle interfaces through our collaboration with Design & Product teams.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain reusable components that will be used across many differing tech stacks using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Contribute to foundational JavaScript/TypeScript libraries that power every front-end application across the company
- Contribute to the Design System's Icons & Tokens packages, enabling cross-platform alignment across the company
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Design teams across the company to create a world-class foundation for front-end projects
- Advise fellow engineers on UX & Accessibility best practices
What You'll Bring
- 2+ years of experience writing front-end code
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience with React, Angular, Vue, or other common Front-End frameworks
- Experience contributing to foundation/system-level codebases and frameworks used by other developers
- Ability to craft/balance excellent End-User and Developer Experiences
- Ability to produce high-quality, scalable, responsive UI components
- Experience with Nextjs, Remix, Vite, or other common meta-frameworks
- Keeping up on the latest tips, tricks, and what is possible in UX. CSS Grid and Flexbox are hardly new to you. You promote industry best practices in any and all contexts
- Experience with keyboard-only navigation, developing for power-users, and making accessible interfaces that are smooth to use
- Good eye for UX design & micro-interactions
