About

  • The Robotics Software Engineering team is responsible for designing, building, and integrating various types of mobile robots to facilitate the movement of parts within and between Tesla facilities worldwide. This includes the management of AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots), ASRSs (Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems), conveyor systems and the potential usage of Optimus on the factory floor.
  • We are seeking an Engineering generalist with world-class software skills to contribute to our robot fleet management platform. In this role, you will develop highly scalable, real-time systems to control thousands of mobile robots, and create applications to leverage the robot fleet in a highly dynamic manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, maintain, and expand the design of Tesla's internal robot fleet management platform
  • Contribute to and take ownership of the end-to-end design and implementation of features from early prototype to production release
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement, planning them within the engineering design cycle iterations
  • Support ongoing projects in production by identifying, debugging, and resolving issues to ensure service uptime

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Expertise in software fundamentals, including architectural design, algorithm development, data structures, code modularity, and testing
  • Experience in developing web applications or data platforms is a plus
  • Preferred skills and technologies: Golang, C++, GraphQL, NATS, Kafka, gRPC, SQL, CI/CD and DevOps tooling – Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, GitHub
  • ROS, autonomous robot motion control, perception, localization, navigation, and path planning
