Senior Software Engineer XR

We are seeking a highly skilled XR (Extended Reality) Developer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will design and develop immersive XR experiences (AR/VR/MR) that deliver engaging and interactive user experiences. You will collaborate with designers, product managers, and other developers to build scalable, high-quality applications for various platforms, including Meta Quest, Apple Vision Pro, and others.

Our team creates reusable technologies to help with customer acquisition, onboarding, and empowering merchants, while ensuring a seamless experience for both of these stakeholders. We also optimize tariffs and assortment in accordance with Walmart's Everyday Low Cost philosophy. We not only create affordability, but we also deliver customized experiences for customers across all channels - in-store, mobile app, and websites.

What you'll do:

• Lead the discovery phase of medium to large Mobile Engineering projects by collaborating with cross-functional teams to determine project strategy and translating it into sustainable mobile solutions.
• Troubleshoot business and production issues for mobile devices by gathering and evaluating information, formulating an action plan, and performing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
• Provide mobile engineering support to the business by responding to user questions, forecasting for future technologies, and leading cross-functional partnerships to implement resolutions.
• Lead small project teams for Mobile Engineering projects by identifying short- and long-term solutions, providing guidance on issues, and performing design and code reviews of changes.
• Manage medium-to large-scale Mobile Engineering projects, ensuring that solutions are functional, applicable to multiple operating systems, and delivered on time.
• Demonstrate up-to-date expertise and provide advice and guidance to others on best practices.
• Support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships with key stakeholders and adapting to new responsibilities and demands.
• Model compliance with company policies and procedures while supporting company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.

What you'll bring:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of iOS/Android platform experience.
• 2+ years of programming experience in Swift and/or Kotlin.
• 1+ year of experience using ARKit/ARCore and Core Vision/ML Kit.
• Deep understanding of various aspects of Mobile App Development.
• Experience integrating with REST-based backend services.
• Experience working with large code bases and effectively driving large projects.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing others across the organization.
• Good problem-solving attitude and analytical skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies as required on the job.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience building Augmented Reality (AR) applications using Unity or other AR SDKs.
• Experience with Mixed Reality/Virtual Reality (Apple Vision Pro, HoloLens, Oculus, Vive, Rift).
• Familiarity with 3D Modeling tools such as Maya or Blender.
• Experience with Game Design, 3D modeling, and 3D Computer Graphics is a plus.
