Project Overview

As part of your master's thesis, you will:

• Conduct comprehensive scientific literature review on state-of-the-art AR applications in vehicles
• Design, conceptualize, and develop a prototype AR application
• Evaluate the prototype using scientific methods
• Document findings and contribute to scientific publications

Potential Research Topics

• Depth cues for virtual objects in AR
• Environment occlusion for virtual objects in AR
• Leveraging Generative AI with virtual Points of Interest

Requirements

• Ongoing master's degree in computer science, media informatics, HCI, or comparable field
• Good understanding of 3D engine development (like Unity) or generative AI
• Basic experience with AR/VR/MR
• Experience in academic research and scientific studies preferred
• Enthusiasm for Augmented or Virtual Reality
• Self-motivated learner
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Proficiency in German or English
