About

Realities.io is looking for an experienced Community & Marketing Manager for Puzzling Places to engage with our lovely community, help us reach new audiences and who wants to be involved in the development of the next iteration of the game - if this sounds interesting, read on!

What will you be working on? Your main focus will be community management and marketing for our relaxing 3D jigsaw puzzle game Puzzling Places - a game where players put together puzzles made of 3D scans of real world places. Launched in September 2021 across various VR platforms (Meta Quest, PSVR2, etc), Puzzling Places has grown into a beloved live service game with new puzzles being added every month. We are about to embark on the game's next big step, a step that will include crafting even more beautiful & detailed content - and that’s where you come in!

Who are we looking for? You're an expert in understanding how to market games to gamers and non-gamers alike and have worked on games targeting older audiences. You're experienced in content creation - be it in video (production/editing) or in copywriting(writing/publishing). You're fluent in English and well-versed in Internet memes and culture. You know and understand Discord community management inside-and-out (bots, stickers, etc), know how to cultivate and grow a set of players into an engaged community. You've written and sent press releases, you know how to work with press and media. You've worked with influencers and have a network that you can engage with for marketing campaigns. You're great at responding to players through social media channels and communities. You can come up with ideas for marketing campaigns, sales, and giveaways.You're experienced in responding to support requests, player reviews, and managing expectations. You're super organized, are able to keep up with rapid release schedules. You're the master of your domain and work well synchronously and asynchronously with your teammates. You're based in in Berlin or Brandenburg (sorry, grant funding requirement) or open to relocate here.

The Tasks

  • Write and publish marketing copy for monthly feature & content releases including
  • Blog posts, discord announcements, and social media derivatives
  • Record short VR and MR gameplay footage for marketing purposes.
  • Develop social media/community strategies and best practices across various social media channels (i.e. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Reddit, TikTok, etc)
  • Reply to reviews, emails & messages, supporting players with smaller issues and communicate bigger problems to the rest of the team
  • Editing and publishing video podcasts
  • writing summaries, adding Youtube chapter marks, and picking out highlights clips
  • Execute day-to-day social media campaigns and scheduling including content sourcing
  • Grow and engage our players by creating social strategies unique to player types and platforms
  • Understand the player base, how to market to them effectively and be a representative for them internally
  • Manage and amplify output of content creators and help identify new potential partners.
  • Uses social media intelligence to correctly interpret, document, and report what our community thinks.
  • Creating basic marketing assets & content (banners, share pics, short form videos, gifs, etc)
  • Communicate externally with platforms & press/media for scheduling updates and announcements

Skill requirements:

  • Experience working in a marketing and/or gaming community-facing role.
  • 3+ years of managing social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok) and community platforms (Discord, Reddit)
  • Experience writing clear, engaging and cohesive messaging in English with the target audience in mind.
  • Demonstrate the ability to find opportunities to create, own and lead community oriented campaigns and initiatives.
  • Able to independently create social media assets (solid graphic design and video production skills)
  • Support development by using social media to explore upcoming updates, features and art styles to gauge interest
  • Ability to write about technical features and details for a broad, non-technical audience.
  • Ability to work individually and with cross-functional teams to develop campaigns and drive results.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Great eye for high-quality impactful content.
  • Great understanding of best practices for each social media platform.
  • Analytical capabilities to measure and understand how social campaigns deliver impact to broader business/marketing objectives.
