About
Qualcomm XR Research India is at the forefront of designing state-of-the-art XR solutions for AR, VR, and MR use cases. The XR ML Systems team is expanding its capabilities to incorporate novel sensing modalities like Speech and Language, advancing XR user experiences. Qualcomm is seeking a Lead-Senior Engineer with a strong background in Large Language Models (LLMs) and multimodal deep learning techniques to innovate, implement, and deliver cutting-edge AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehend and implement state-of-the-art LLM algorithms on Linux PC, migrate them to Qualcomm hardware, and optimize performance.
- Develop LLM-based solutions to enhance XR products, ensuring tactical problem-solving and innovation.
- Dissect XR use cases into AI/ML/DL algorithms and build efficient prototypes in Python and/or C++.
- Utilize Qualcomm ML tools (SNPE, QNN SDK, AIMET) for performance analysis and optimization of ML/DL algorithms.
- Deliver high-quality results while meeting project deadlines, resolving constraints with key stakeholders across software, algorithms, and tooling teams.
- Communicate progress to stakeholders through written and oral updates, addressing feedback and bridging gaps.
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in Deep Learning R&D with a Master's degree in a relevant field.
- 2+ years of experience developing and deploying LLM-related algorithms in real-world AI products.
- Proficiency in Python, C, and transformer-based deep learning algorithms.
- Hands-on experience with frameworks like PyTorch, ONNX, and TensorFlow.
- Strong foundational knowledge in AI/ML/DL concepts, including system design, problem formulation, training, and testing methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of industrial AI/ML/DL algorithm development experience with a Ph.D. from top-tier institutions.
- Expertise in data curation, training, optimizing, and mapping LLMs for mobile and embedded platforms.
- Experience in transformer optimization techniques and Generative/Multimodal AI models.
- Publications in top AI/ML conferences such as CVPR, ECCV, ICLR, ICML, or NeurIPS.
- Proficiency in C++ and embedded software development.
