About
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Virtual Reality Technician/Operator resident in Hamilton (Ontario) to join our dynamic team in Canada and help us maintain excellence in our VR operations.
Responsibilities
As a Junior Virtual Reality Technician/Operator, you will work full time playing a crucial role in the daily operations and maintenance of our state-of-the-art VR room located at McMaster Innovation Park (Hamilton). This entry-level position is ideal for someone looking to kickstart his/her career in the exciting world of VR. When not maintaining the room, you will also be responsible for working on low-code VR content creation (programming experience not required), to help build engaging examples of experiences that can be demoed in the room.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain VR equipment, including headsets, controllers, hotspots and computers, ensuring all components are functioning optimally.
- Assist in setting up VR rooms for various activities and events, ensuring a smooth and immersive experience for users.
- Perform routine checks and troubleshooting to resolve any technical issues promptly.
- Collaborate with the content team to create and update VR content using our low-code platform VIROO and Unity authoring tools.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users, ensuring they have a positive and safe VR experience.
- Maintain detailed logs of equipment usage, maintenance, and any issues encountered.
- Stay updated with the latest VR technology trends and advancements to bring innovative ideas to the team.
Requirements
- A passion for Virtual Reality and a keen interest in emerging technologies.
- Basic knowledge of VR systems and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with VR systems.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and software.
- Customer service experience.
Desirable
- Experience/Familiarity with VR systems and/or content creation, with low-code platforms and tools for content creation, like Unity, is a plus.
- A work permit or Canadian resident.
- Canadian driving license.
