As a Software Engineer on the Audio team, you will foster our scientific explorations and generate viable paths to the consumer products that will connect people in meaningful ways for decades to come. In this role you will engage with research scientists and engineers across RL-R to deliver state of the art solutions in the audio domain. Audio Software Engineer Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, integrate, optimize and debug real-time AR and VR audio software for advanced prototypes and user experiences.
  • Build tools, platforms, infrastructure and documentation that enable more efficient and effective research.
  • Build a community of researchers and developers by sharing software engineering best practices, tips and techniques.
  • Collaborate in a team environment across multiple scientific and engineering disciplines, making the architectural trade offs required to rapidly deliver software solutions.
  • Develop clean readable code, debug complex problems that span systems, understand priorities and fulfill project needs efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
  • 3+ years of hands-on C / C++ experience developing audio software systems
  • 2+ years of industry experience integrating audio features on hardware devices
  • Experience operating in a self-directed environment with multiple stakeholders across multiple teams
  • Experience shipping multiple products on large code bases that span a range of platforms and tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with audio fundamentals, processing pipelines and Digital Signal Processing concepts
  • Interest or experience in Audio Machine Learning training and evaluation, including Python, PyTorch, etc
  • Previous experience working in the AR/VR space
  • Successfully driving and executing on research initiatives
  • Experience with prototyping platforms such as Max/MSP, MATLAB or Audioweaver
