AR/VR Principal Scientist

Join EMD Electronics as an AR/VR Principal Scientist and play a pivotal role in advancing the development of cutting-edge AR/VR technology. You'll collaborate with global teams to push the boundaries of science and technology, focusing on scalable solutions for next-generation AR/VR products.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop scalable patterning methods for Polarization Volume Hologram (PVH) waveguides.
• Characterize optical components at the grating and combiner levels.
• Collaborate with OEMs to develop tools that enhance throughput while maintaining yield and optical performance.
• Drive innovation in AR/VR materials and processes to push device performance.

Role Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• MS in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, or related field (PhD preferred).
• 5+ years of industry experience in AR/VR technology development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in patterning techniques for AR/VR components and scaling up production.
• In-depth knowledge of AR/VR technology, including materials and architectures influencing KPIs and user experience.
• Proven experience scaling AR/VR devices from concept to mass production.
• Familiarity with optical characterization methods for AR/VR components.
• Innovation experience in wet coating technologies (slot die coater, IJP, optical lithography, etc.).
• Strong understanding of AR/VR-related IP.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay Range: $143,500 - $215,300 annually.
• Full-time role with benefits.
