About
CBS News and Stations is hiring an Augmented & Virtual Reality Engineer to drive the development of immersive, data-driven environments for News, Elections, and Weather live broadcasts. You will lead in designing and deploying next-gen AR/VR solutions that transform how audiences experience live news.
Responsibilities:
- Design, engineer, and implement AR/VR systems for CBS News.
- Collaborate across teams, integrating AR/VR into news, weather, and creative content.
- Deploy and support high-availability AR/VR technology infrastructure.
- Define standards for software architecture, redundancy, and security.
- Mentor and assist colleagues with technical troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years in AR/VR production within a broadcast environment.
- Skills: Proficiency in Unreal Engine, motion tracking systems, 3D modeling software, and AR/VR platforms.
- Knowledge: Broadcast workflows, IT, networking, and Agile development.
- Education: BA/BS in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Other: Travel required for the role.
Salary Range:
$100,000 - $140,000 annually, plus benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability benefits, tuition assistance, and PTO.
