Want to build at the cutting edge of immersive shopping experiences? The Visual Innovation Team at Amazon is at the center of advanced visual and immersive content, pioneering VR and AR shopping, CGI, and GenAI. We are looking for a 3D Tech Artist/Design Technologist with systems administrator experience to drive innovation in this space. If you are passionate about scaling 3D content creation while balancing artistry and technology, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a bridge between art and engineering disciplines to solve multidisciplinary problems
- AWS work with EC2, AWS Systems Manager, VPC, FSx, and Manage Active Directory
- Collaborate with other tech artists and engineers to build and maintain a centralized suite of artist tools
- Work with art leadership to research and implement industry trends that expand production capabilities
- Handle hardware and software procurement for artist and design technologist desktops
- License server administration
A Day in the Life
You will focus on AWS-related tasks, hardware and software license procurement, and developing tools and workflows to improve the artist's experience. Tasks include spinning up new EC2s, developing tools for Maya/Substance, and creating automation workflows to advance 3D/CGI fidelity. Creativity and problem-solving are key.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years in a systems computer-graphics-related field (VFX, Games, Film, Motion Graphics)
- TypeScript and AWS experience
- Deep understanding of content creation and delivery processes
- Proficiency in a modern programming language
- Experience building and maintaining internal pipelines and toolsets
- Understanding of real-time and offline rendering and shader techniques
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Perforce, AWS, and digital content creation software (Maya, Unreal, Blender, Houdini, Adobe Substance Suite)
- Experience with VRay, Unreal, Unity, or equivalent renderers
- Interest in e-commerce rendering trends (WebGL, glTF)
- Experience with Python/C++/C#/Java
- Familiarity with artist tools and project management tools like Jira, Shotgun, or ftrack
- Experience optimizing assets for real-time rendering
Compensation
- Salary range: $118,600 - $205,000 depending on market location and experience.
- Equity, sign-on bonuses, and full benefits may be offered as part of a total compensation package.
